College and Career Preparation Services
Our Scholars must have the appropriate resources and relationships to compete effectively at the highest level at school―as well as for internships and in the job market. The newly established College and Career Preparation Services initiative is going to help us bring even more resources to a critical component of the Oliver Scholars Program. We will provide comprehensive support through:
- Individualized counseling
- Assistance in the writing/editing of compelling personal essays
- SAT Prep
- Life-skills workshops (personal presentation, interview strategies, cultivating relationships)
- Financial aid workshops for Scholars and their families
As Scholars begin their college life, we will provide individual counseling related to their freshman year experiences, along with career counseling through ongoing communications via phone, text, Skype, social media, and site visits. Meanwhile, the team at our home office will connect with current and potential partners in the corporate arena to facilitate recruitment and placement in internships, along with opportunities for gainful employment.
