Nominations Process

 

 

Our 2016-2017 Admissions Season is officially underway. We look forward to recruiting our largest class in Oliver Scholars’ history.

In addition to selecting 70 extraordinary seventh graders for our Scholars Program, we are excited to launch our Junior Scholars Program, which will welcome 15 highly-motivated fourth graders.

Who Can Apply to Oliver?

Fourth grade candidates who meet ALL of the following criteria:

  • Districts 4, 5, 6, and 7, as defined by New York City Department of Education
  • African and/or Latino descent
  • Grade Point Average (GPA) of 90% in third grade in core subjects
    • with no grade lower than an 85% in any subject
  • NYS Standardized ELA exam raw score greater than 318, if applicable
  • NYS Standardized STM (Math) exam raw score greater than 318, if applicable
  • Demonstrate leadership potential through school involvement
  • Highly motivated to succeed

Who Can Nominate?

Anyone can nominate a student.

Copies of the following documents must be uploaded with each nomination:

  • 3rd grade cumulative report card
  • most recent state standardized Math and ELA test scores, if applicable

Please note: Nominations missing report cards will not be considered.

School Administrators who wish to nominate more than 20 candidates may contact us at admissions@oliverscholars.org for further assistance, if needed.

How to Nominate?

To nominate exceptional student(s), please click on the button below. Nominations will be accepted on a rolling basis, until March 31st.

Please note: attachments may be scanned and uploaded or photographed using a mobile device and uploaded.

Seventh grade candidates who meet ALL of the following criteria:

  • African and/or Latino descent
  • Grade Point Average (GPA) of 90% in sixth grade in core subjects
    • with no grade lower than an 85% in any subject
  • NYS Standardized ELA exam raw score greater than 318, if applicable
  • NYS Standardized STM (Math) exam raw score greater than 320, if applicable
  • Active participant in extracurricular activities
  • Demonstrate leadership potential through school and community involvement
  • Highly motivated to succeed and contribute to society

Who Can Nominate?

Anyone can nominate a student for the Oliver Scholars Program.
