Social Justice Summer Institute for High School Students - 2016

Oliver Scholars invites interested high school students of any background to apply to participate in our Social Justice Summer Institute. This Institute will examine the topic of identity through the exploration of relevant current events, literature and social theory. Students will converse with leading activists and thinkers, engage in experiential exercises, and produce a capstone project.
- A completed application form
- An essay on “What is the most important social justice issue to you?” or "What is one law, policy or cultural norm that you would change if you could?"
- A copy of a school transcript from 2014-15
- A letter of reference from an English or Social Studies teacher in a sealed envelope

A maximum of 20 students will be invited to participate. Admission offers will be made on a rolling basis, so early applications are encouraged. All classes will be held at 80 Maiden Lane unless otherwise specified.
