Oliver Scholars recruits, prepares, and supports exceptional seventh grade students for placement and overall success at the nation’s top high schools.
Nominations for the 2020 - 2021 admissions cycle are now open, and run from October 1, 2020 - January 9, 2021.
We accept applications from students in seventh grade from all New York City districts.
Eligible seventh graders must meet all of the following criteria:
Parents, teachers, and counselors can nominate a seventh grader for Oliver Scholars. Students may also nominate themselves. (School administrators who wish to nominate more than 20 candidates may contact us at admissions@oliverscholars.org for further assistance.)
Nominated students and their families will be invited to attend one of Oliver's Admissions Information Meetings, which will take place from October through February. This is an important opportunity to learn more about the different program components, as well as the level of commitment necessary from both students and families to ensure success throughout. Attendance at an Admissions Information Meeting is required prior to applying to the program.

Yes! We provide one-on-one counseling for families during the placement process, and also host regular workshops to educate families on financial aid and independent school life. Equally important are the strong ties we cultivate with almost 80 partner schools, working closely with them to open the doors to opportunity for our scholars.
If you have additional questions regarding the application/nomination process or want to learn how your middle school can partner with Oliver, please send us an email.
